In order to do so, open your computer’s web browser, you should automatically connect to the Xfinity activation web page and follow those instructions.
Once the light is solid, you can start the activation process. Before proceeding, wait for the online connection light on the front of your Gateway to stop flashing and remain solid. If your gateway has a power button, you may need to press it to turn on the Gateway. Next, plug the power cable into the back of the Gateway, the other end into an electrical outlet. It needs to be hooked up to the computer, connect the Ethernet cable to the back of the wireless gateway here, then connect the other end into the computer itself. Now that we have the Gateway connected to the wall. The other open foot we can use to connect our final piece of coax cable into the gateway. Now take the cable that came from the cable box that you removed from the wall and connect it to one of the feet or outputs of the splitter. Then the other end into the head or input connection of the splitter. Once it’s disconnected, connect the small cable to the open coax outlet on the wall. If you have a cable box connected, you will need to disconnect the box from the outlet for just a moment. Remember, righty-tighty, lefty-loosey and make sure all your connections are finger tight, screw the other end of this cable into the cable in connection on the back of the Gateway. If you have an open out late, use one of the coax cables and screw it into the outlet.
Your kit will include the wireless gateway, two coax cables, a power cord, an Ethernet cable, a coax cable splitter and some cable Tech’s to secure the coax cable to a baseboard if needed. Once you open the box, you will find our easy-to-follow setup instructions.
